Welcome To the IOCDF Research Grant Site

The International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) is committed to research investigating the causes and treatment of OCD and related disorders. Since the launch of the program in 1994, the IOCDF has awarded over 3.5 million dollars in research grants (to learn more about the IOCDF, please visit www.iocdf.org). In 2018, the IOCDF will have two levels of grants available.

  • Young Investigator/Fellow Award: Investigators in graduate school up through five years after finishing their terminal degree. The budget for these projects will range up to $50,000 per award and the number awarded will depend on available funding. Funding will be paid out over one year. Grants are available for research projects aimed at understanding the causes of OCD, treatment for OCD, pediatric OCD, PANS/PANDAS, BDD research, and Hoarding research.
  • Breakthrough Award: In 2018, we will be awarding 2 grants for investigators with 5+ years of experience following completion of their terminal degree. Each grant will be for $500,000 and will be paid out in three installments over three years. Note, this research could focus on prevention (i.e., keeping OCD from taking hold), to treatment (i.e., once symptoms begin, can treatment reduce them as close as possible to zero). However, this funding is only available for OCD research specifically.
